Who Can Receive A Treatment At Present?

Whilst we are empathetic of your pain and reasons for reaching out to come in and see us, we are unable to treat you under stage 4 restrictions unless you have a care plan endorsed by organisations such as NDIS, TAC, Workcover or DVA AND your condition has shown a significant change/deterioration in functional independence necessitating escalation of care (e.g. a requirement for specialist input/review, an increase in care needs and/or alternate accommodation, avoiding a hospital admission or emergency department presentation).

A GP referral is not accepted as a reason for needing treatment.

This effectively means that we are legally unable to treat the majority of our clients until Monday the 28th of September 2020 when the stage 4 restriction are due to be lifted.

Please refer to the flowchart below that has been issued by our industry association explaining when face to face treatments can be provided under stage 4 restrictions.

What are your options?

We know many of our current clients are very much in need of help during this time and whilst we can’t see you face to face, we can offer you a Telehealth session with your therapist which will be very helpful in giving you some self- treatment techniques that we as therapists have been using with our own bodies for years.

Looking to the future!

Please call us today on 03 9826 2006 to secure your face to face booking for the week starting Monday the 26th October 2020. We are already getting booked out for after this date so get in now and secure your spot. Our team will all be rostered on to treat as many clients as possible and clear the backlog of people in pain.

Should the lock down dates be changed by government we will notify all of our clients immediately and make the necessary appointment adjustments.

Thank you!

Thank you for your support and understanding in what has been a challenging time for everyone. Stay Strong and Stay Safe!

What is Myotherapy?

Myotherapy (muscular therapy) is the assessment of muscular injury and dysfunction.

Myotherapy treatments decrease pain and improve physical mobility and ability through improved muscular strength and flexibility, and correct body function.

When one area of your body is out of sync, it can affect other areas.

Benefits of Myotherapy

Everyday activity such as prolonged sitting, bending, lifting and repetitive movements can misalign your back, and cause other areas such as your neck and shoulders to be inflamed.

Our patients seek myotherapy to treat a particular ailment, and complete their treatment as a more energetic, stronger and happier person.

What to expect at your treatment

In your initial consultation we strive to gain an understanding of relevant lifestyle factors which may have contributed to your discomfort, including occupational, recreational such as activities, diet and past injuries.

A physical assessment is conducted to determine which treatment is most suitable for your condition.

Sprains and strains are some of the most common injuries seen among athletes.

This is generally due to the high intrinsic demands we put on our bodies to compete. External factors also influence these types of injures such as; Being tackled, Uneven playing surface, Landing poorly.

A sprain is a stretched or torn ligament. Ligaments are tissues that connect bones at a joint. Falling, twisting, or getting hit can all cause a sprain. Ankle, Knee and Wrist Sprains are very common.

A strain is a stretched or torn muscle or tendon. Tendons are tissues that connect muscle to bone. Twisting or pulling these tissues can cause a strain. Strains can happen suddenly or develop over time. Back and hamstring muscle strains are extremely common.
